Civil War Veterans at Riverside Cemetery, Lower Waterford

Here are the Civil War veterans from Riverside Cemetery, which may have been called Upper Cemetery in some earlier records:

Calvin Green, d. Aug 1, 1895, Co. K. 15th Regt Vt Vols
Hiram L. Morse, b. Feb. 19, 1831, d. Oct. 14, 1904. Co. H, 2 Reg. U.S. S.S. (credited to Concord)
Abel F. Carpenter, d. Feb. 26, 1889, aged 55 yrs 2 ms, Co. E, 6 Vt Vols. (credited to St Johnsbury)
Albert F. Wheeler, b. Nov. 24, 1834, d. Mar 25, 1906, Co. K, 15th Regt Vt Vols. (Credited to St Johnsbury)

I also picked up some details on family members of people in this cemetery: Thomas Bickford Jr., b. 1838, credited to Waterford, 1st Vt Batt, 1st Vt Heavy Artillery, died in Clinton, Mass.; Asa L. Hurlbutt, age 28 at enlistment on 28 Aug 1862, credited to Waterford, Co. K, 15th Inf (in Pensions files for widow Elvira L. Hurlbutt), buried in Grove Cemetery, St Johnsbury; and Charles J. Stoddard, 1842-6/13/1902, buried at Congressional Cemetery, Wash DC.

There is also a Capt. Horace Buck buried here; died Oct. 27, 1873, age 70 (wife Polly Caswell); I haven't been able to figure out which group his captaincy derived from but it may have been a placement in Florida, well before the Civil War of course. -- BK
